What is Freedom Fest?
An explanation of the festival following the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run
The Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run is the main event of the day. The ILMFR has thousands of motorcycle riding from Morris to the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, with Gold Star families leading the pack, honoring all of the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. The run along with the Ceremony at the Wall, is a somber occasion, with names of those who gave all are read out as they are added to the monument. These events are organized by the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run.
The City of Marseilles supports the Freedom Run with city services as well as the Marseilles Freedom Fest. Since, the inception of the Freedom Run, a band has performed as a way for participants to let down their hair, relax, and enjoy the day. Freedom Fest, also know as the Celebration of Freedom, is a city sponsored event that starts at 3pm. To respect the sanctity that is the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial, no music or alcohol sales happen until the ceremony is completed.
2016 is slated to be an exciting year! Rockie Lynne, Righteous Hillbillies, and South Side Hooligans will play the main street stage. Special thanks to Ladd Sound Productions for providing sound and lights for Freedom Fest, as well as sound for the Ceremony at the Wall earlier in the day. If you, or someone you know is interested in sponsoring Freedom Fest or acquiring vendor space, please contact email@example.com.
We hope you join us for the Freedom Run, Ceremony as well as Freedom Fest on the third weekend in June in Marseilles.
